“Anyone and everyone taking a writing class knows that the secret of good writing is to cut it back, pare it down, winnow, chop, hack, prune, and trim, remove every superfluous word, compress, compress, compress...”
~ Nick Hornby

  • A consistent literacy level and unified voice. As you build a market presence, you do so with our presentation material—our visuals and our text. These must create the level of literacy you wish your discussions with people to be at. With your material, you set the tone of the dialog, you are in control of our message. It is imperative that this is crafted at the highest level that includes all your customer base. In doing so, you produce a "corporate" voice that becomes the riff in all sales and marketing approaches—verbal, written, visual.

  • Extensive editing (substantive edit), copyediting, preparation and adherence to style and usage guides. I perform general copy edits as well as more substantive editing of English-language copy.

  • Technical editing is a more specialized skill, needing familiarity with a more technical manner of writing. Often I am required to create a homogenized voice within a single document when the prose is created by several authors of whom one or more may not have English as first language.
